What to do with all those old special ornaments...

When the children have left the nest, and Christmastime is scaled to a more "Ma & Pa sized" season, there remains a prized box of extra ornaments collected over the years with care, often one by one. Finally, a heartfelt use for them that doesn't involve a bigger tree. :-)

It may surprise many that prior to 1900, Ol' Saint Nick was depicted in colorful robes, often even in the color blue. Some attribute the red suit to famous art connecting his jolly ritual with the Church's advent color red. Others claim it was the marketing campaign by Coca-Cola which dressed Santa in their colors of red and white. This Junk Journal is a fun tribute to some of his bluer days.
